With gratitude to the sheep and farmers that provide me with raw material, nature that inspires me, and people who show curiosity and kindness.

Our story

My job is to felt. Your job is to remember to feel good.

Minerva’s Studio is born out of a lifelong love for transformation—the joy of creating something beautiful out of nothing. My relationship with fiber began as far back as I can remember. As a child, I sewed clothes for my dolls. Later, I designed garments for my own daughters, and remembered the times I guided my own mother to sew simple clothes for me to wear to school when we were in need.

Over the years, knitting and needle-felting joined my creative circle. For a long time, these passions existed in an uneasy imbalance with my corporate day job. The dream of turning my hands-on hobbies into a business brewed like an unreachable destination—until I finally stopped waiting for tomorrow and brought Minerva’s Studio to life.
Today, my work is an invitation to step back and experience a gentler perspective on life's challenges. My muses are split between two worlds: the lulling blues of the Mediterranean seas and skies where I grew up, and the infinite layers of green, abundant wildlife, and forest mushrooms of my home here in the Pacific Northwest.

I use whimsical, tactile imagery to explore pressing socio-economic issues. This intersection is what triggered my “Affordable Homes” wool sculpture line and my visual pieces celebrating nature preservation.

This studio is a true family journey. I intentionally engage my two daughters in the business in ways that mirror their growing lives—my oldest keeps me connected through our social media, while my youngest brings her fresh perspective to our design and operations. Together, we are building toward a future where I hope to one day own a small farm to continue learning, producing, and teaching art.

People often ask about the name. Minerva is the ancient goddess of wisdom, science, and the arts—admittedly stretched a bit thin in her celestial duties! But she is also the patron of craftspeople, and I love carrying her legacy forward through my art.

My job is to lay down the fibers, handle the needles, and craft the work. Your job is simply to take a breath, notice the quiet, everyday wonders around us, and remember to feel good.

Warmly,
Maya
